Hey friends, I know it's been a while. Every so often, I try and come back here with a new post idea or a new update and ultimately give up again so I don't even know how many of you are still kicking around after an almost two-year hiatus but if you're still here - it's great to see you and if you're new, hello and welcome to my corner of the internet!
But you're probably here because you read the title and I'm getting married! I always had a vision for this blog, even when I made it ten years ago at 18 and perpetually single that I wanted to document my wedding planning journey, so naturally this felt like as good a time as any to pop back on here and give you all the updates and adventures as we go about planning our wedding.
My fiancé and I met online (big up SALT). I was scared of dating apps for so long, so if you're in the same boat as me, here's your sign that it can sometimes work out. We originally matched in August of 2024 but fell out of contact, eventually reconnecting in July of 2025, and here we are a year later!
He's based in England and I'm based in Ireland so that also means that a lot of the wedding planning process is going to be remote. It also means that we take a lot of trips together as an excuse to meet up - which is what I thought our trip to Cambridge was but he had other plans. We spent the weekend exploring his old college town and on Monday evening after a nice dinner he popped the question on a punt on the River Cam outside King's College with the most perfect ring (which he picked by himself, and I would have picked this exact ring if I were choosing so he did a good job) and even hired a photographer to capture the whole thing!
