My Current Everyday Makeup Routine

I don't know about you but I honestly don't wear makeup all that often anymore. I used to wear it every single day for uni but now that I'm not leaving the house ever, essentially the only time I put makeup on is when I'm shooting content. When I was at uni I would literally put makeup on every morning for class but I have a lot less motivation now to get dressed up for Zoom calls unless they're slightly bigger events but who can really be bothered to put a full face of makeup on to go and sit in the makeshift living room office all day. But Some days even in lockdown you want to put a little bit of effort in so this is what I like to do on the days that I can actually be bothered to get properly ready.

Primer

Glossier Priming Moisturiser

I always kick off with this primer from Glossier. This just makes my skin feel so soft and smooth every time I use it and it creates a perfect base for applying makeup on top of. I use this even on no makeup days so it's due a replacement soon because the little tube is coming to the end of its life.

Foundation

Too Faced Born This Way

This is one of those products that started out as a treat yourself purchase one day and now I can't stop. I use the shade snow which is fair with cool undertones and I actually got matched with this shade in my local Debenham's (RIP) so I know it's the perfect shade for me. It's a little on the pricier side for foundation at £29 but I'm on my sixth or seventh bottle since I started buying it so clearly I must love it!

Concealer

Rimmel Wake Me Up

I'll be honest, concealer is a product that I often forget exists and unless I've set all my products out in front of me before I start I'll often just not put it on, hence why this is just a drugstore pick. Again I have pale skin so this is in the shade Ivory (or 010) If you have any good concealer recommendations though do fire them my way because I'd love to check out some new ones.

Powder

Rimmel Stay Matte

And again another drugstore pick! This one is just laziness of my part because I live approximately a two-minute walk away from 'The Big Tesco' I find myself more often than not whenever I hit the pan in my current Stay Matte powder I just go and buy another one. I am well aware that there are probably hundreds of powders that are better than Stay Matte since I've been using it since the ripe old age of fourteen but why fix something that ain't broken. Not the most groundbreaking of beauty products on this list but definitely the one that's been in my life for the longest. Oh and I use the shade Transparent because once again I am pale af.

Bronzer

Benefit Hoola

Is there a person alive who doesn't use Hoola bronzer? Even my sister who isn't a splurger with makeup makes an exception when it comes to Hoola. I feel like Benefit just knew what they were doing when they created this product. I've been using Hoola and nothing but Hoola for years and will probably continue to do so unless I can be bothered to try a different bronzer someday in the distant future. That being said some days I do just skip bronzer and go straight to blush if I'm feeling a rosier look.

Blush

Anastasia Beverly Hills Blush trio

I mentioned this one in my top TK Maxx finds post but this is possibly one of my favourite products that I own. Mine is in the shade Peachy Love and contains three peach shades and it's just delightful. I love blush because I feel like it makes my pale skin look alive and I just think that Blush makes you look cute.

Highlighter

Jolie Beauty Second Skin (gifted)

The glow that these highlighters give is unparalleled. Truly I feel so radiant every time I put them on. I've been using a Becca highlight for years but recently made the switch to these ones and I'm obsessed. I mainly use the shade 'Saintly' but I did a whole post on them here if you want a more in-depth review.

Brows

Glossier Boy Brow

This may be controversial but I'm not the biggest fan of this product. I much prefer Benefit Gimme Brow but I am also a big believer in using up the products you have before picking up any more. Don't get me wrong I don't dislike this product but I just didn't love it as much as I'd wanted to initially because I'd heard such stellar reviews. I use the shade Blonde but I've heard that I may just need to use a darker shade to get the proper use of it.

Eyeshadow

Tarte Tartelette In Bloom

While everything else in my makeup routine stays pretty much the same every day, one thing I do like to shake up is my eyeshadow palette of choice but I do find myself most often reaching for my Tartelette In Bloom palette. It's filled with a host of neutral matte shades and the occasional neutral shimmer shade so it's the perfect palette for everyday use. Other honourable mentions to Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Volume II, Naked Heat and the Stila Kitten Duo.

Eyeliner

Glossier Pro Tip

This isn't a strict pick, I recently did a Glossier order and needed a few more things to boost my bag for free shipping so threw this one in the mix. I previously used Tarte Kitten but I'm actually really loving this one possibly more. You get a very precise flick and it's super easy to use. I will likely repurchase this in the future! Definitely recommend this one if you're after a new liquid liner pen.

Mascara

Too Faced Better Than Sex

I rave about this mascara literally all the time. I initially picked up a mini version in TK Maxx to try it out and ended up loving it so much that I inevitably purchased myself the full-size version. I was always apprehensive about splurging on mascaras because they tend to dry up pretty quickly but this is another one of those treat yourself purchases that I can see becoming a regular fixture in my makeup collection. I personally can't testify to if it is, in fact, better than sex but it is pretty great!

Lipstick

MAC Velvet Teddy

This was the true definition of a treat yourself purchase because I literally bought it for myself for Singles Day. I do like to switch lipsticks up fairly often as well but since I've had this one it's pretty much been made the star of the show. I'm such a sucker for a nice nude lip and there's a reason why this one is so universally loved.

Setting Spray

Urban Decay All Nighter

No look is complete until it's been set by all-nighter setting spray. I actually use this before I've done my mascara and eyeliner because I often find that it can cause my mascara to run if I spray it afterwards. I did once spray this in my hair instead of hairspray once by accident and I can confirm that it did not work and All Nighter only means All Nighter if you spray it where intended, on your face.

So that's my current everyday make up routine on days that I can be bothered to have a makeup routine! Are you still wearing makeup now that we're at home all the time or are you like me spending most days with a bare face?
